ABOUT H.O.M.E.S.

We are local residents, unhoused community members,
educators, and advocates working to develop a housing policy agenda
that is focused on:

  • Creating high quality affordable renter-ship opportunities;

  • Creating fair opportunities for home ownership;

  • Ending homelessness; and

  • Ensuring accessible housing options for returning residents.

CURRENT ADVOCACY

The City of Wilmington must listen to and work with residents, community leaders, community-based organizations and use its American Rescue Fund dollars to improve housing and stabilize neighborhoods.

H.O.M.E.S. IS PART OF A LARGER MOVEMENT

The Building People Power Campaign is a grassroots multi-issue effort to propel racial justice across Delaware. The campaign was born from the understanding that we need to break out of our issue silos, connect across districts, and support each other in our many efforts to make lasting change whether it’s in education, criminal justice reform, housing, economics, or health.

We believe we need to center the leadership of Black and Brown people in order to make a real difference in the lives of our communities. We encourage folks of all backgrounds to get involved and support this effort.
